Biography

Andreas Volck changed his German name to the English form, Andrew Fulk II. As a teenager, he moved with his parents to Allemaengel, PA, a smal village just west of Bethlehem, PA. He and his wife moved from PA to NC in 1767 and settled on a farm 3 miles from Bethania where he lived until his death in 1790. They had 12 children, 3 of whom died young. His children are listed in the Moravian Records as the 3rd generation of Fulks/Volks in America.

1722 Mary Catherine is born on 18 Sept to John and Agnes (Bernhardt) Romig.[1][2]

1732 Immigrated to Pennsylvania, United States[3]

1743 Married Andreas Volck on 16 November in Berks County, Pennsylvania[1][4]

1754 Listed as a member of the Allemangel Moravian parsonage with her husband:

VOLCK, Mary Margaret m. n. Romig, fr. the Palatinate.[5]

1803 Bethania, 9 July: Br. and Sr. Pfohl, accompanied by Br. and Sr. Isaac Pfaff, visited the old, blind, widowed communicant Sr. Anna [sic] Margaretha Volck, who lives with her son-in-law Jacob Spönhauer, nine and a half miles from Bethania.[6]

1804 Maria died on 2 June at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, John Jacob and Anna Catherina (Volck) Spanhower. She was buried at Bethania, NC. [7]
