James married Abby G. Denton. They lived in Sevier County, Tennessee.[3][4]
He passed away November 16, 1951, in Jefferson City, Jefferson County, Tennessee, United States.[5] He was buried in Shady Grove Cemetery in Dandridge, Jefferson County, Tennessee, USA.[6]
