The mother of Elna and Anna Jernberg was Hanna Persdotter. She was born on December 11, 1827 in Ullstorp in Önnestad parish, Kristianstads län, Sweden. Her parents were allottment solder Per Rosin and his wife Elsa Jeppasdotter.[1]
Hanna had son Sven born out of wedlock in 1850. He is later noted with patronymic Carlsson, meaning that his father's first name was Carl (Carl's son).
Hanna married Bengt Tufvesson Jernberg on September 25, 1857. They had children:
Bengt died 15 July 1882 in Önnestad.
Hanna was born about 1840. She passed away about 1890. Hanna emigrated to the USA in 1887. She traveled to New York with her daughter Anna (whose twin sister is Elna, married to Charles Swanson) In New York they were met by Elna, who had traveled from Seekonk, Mass to meet with her mother and twin sister.
It is possible the Roos family emegrated to New Sweden in Maine in the 1850's. [2]
Can't work out where her husband's name Per Jernberg comes from. He was called Bengt Tufvesson Jernberg. It easier to understad that Rosin became Roos.
