Robert Perry ROPER was born on 8 Oct 1840 in Greenville, South Carolina. Robert was the son of William ROPER and Susan DUVAL.
Enlisted as a private 3rd Artillery Maryland, transferred to 43rd Regiment GA. Wounded as Baker's Creek Miss May 16 1863 Captured at Vicksburg Miss July 4 1863 and paroled there July 6, 1863. Surrendered at Greensboro, NC April 26, 1865.
Robert died on 16 Jan 1926 in Forsyth, Georgia.
