Jemima Rorie was the daughter of James Rorie and Suesanna Buxton. She was named in her father's will, signed 26 May 1838 in Anson County, North Carolina, by her married name, Jemima Dobbs, with the legacy going to her children James Dobbs and Judah Dobbs.[1]
