- There were 2 John W. Rose's that joined Regiments in Missouri.
- one was 4 years older than the other, he was born in Kentucky and then this one that :was born in Michigan, and occupation Blacksmith. (I believe this one/the John W who :was in the 27th Missouri Mounted who has no age shown are one/same.
