The information on Moses Ross and Melisa's family comes from a letter written on 5 Jan 1978 from Victoria Bannon Farris in Jackson Mississippi to Geraldine Gribble, daughter of William Moses Ross. [copy of letter in possession of E. Lamar Ross]. Victoria said that Moses K. Ross "became an alcoholic and his wife [Melisa] left him". The four children listed that were not on the1880 Census were gotten from Ms. Farris and have not been researched to confirm their accuracy. It is believed that he is buried in Alabama, probably in the Gadsden area. This still needs to be confirmed.
