Biography

Caroline Francis Rothwell, born 1817 / 1819 in co Meath, Ireland was the 3rd. daughter of major Wade Rothwell and Sarah Kellett, both of co. Meath, Ireland

In 1889 Caroline wrote what is known as Aunt Caroline's Notebook; The Rothwells and Kelletts of the County of Meath, Ireland. Also The Thomsons, Alisons, Masseys &c, &c &c ^[1]

1891 Census living London, Ontario aged 72 ^[2]

She died in 1897 in London, Ontario, Canada at the house of her sister Henrietta Fredeswida Rothwell (Mrs Thomson)

Research Notes

Transcription of her fathers death certificate was that she born posthumously in 1817 however in Canada Census 1891 she stated she was born in 1819. According to her notebook she had a younger sister Maria Burrows Rothwell about whom nothing further is known
