Biography

Eliza was born in 1868 to William Rothwell and Agnes Alexander. As an adult she used the name Bird instead of Eliza.

She married William Russell Tabor in 1887. They had 4 children, one of whom died as a child

William died in 1917. Bird died in 1929.

1. Birth and Death. With the exceptions of the 1910 and 1920 Census data, all other records of her age are consistent with a birth year of 1867 or 1868. Her Find A Grave record shows a tombstone with a birth in 1867 and a death in 1929. The FamilySearch.org profile for Eliza Rothwell (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/LZPF-CF1) includes a resource migrated from user-supplied data that gives the following information:

The dates are nearly consistent with other records. In the absence of any definitive record that would give the dates of both birth and death, I used the dates from the user-supplied resource for this profile.

1. Name. The 1870 and 1880 Census forms use the name Eliza. All records after that date use Bird, including the will for her mother, Agnes (Alexander) Rothwell, written in 1916. No clue has surfaced as to why the name changed.
