Biography

William Rothwell was baptised in Witley, Surrey on 26 January 1851. He was the son of William Rothwell & Anna Maria Heward.^[1]

William became a butcher. He married Agnes Towse in 1878 in Thakeham district.

Agnes died in 1881, at her home in Godalming High Street, aged 30. She was buried on 16 May 1881 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section.

William married Jane White in 1891 in Guildford district.

William died 1 Jul 1916 at his home in Godalming High Street, aged 65. He was buried on the 5th in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section.

Jane died on 13 Mar 1933 at her home in Queen Street, Godalming, allegedly aged 86, but that isn't consistent with the birth year of 1849 on her gravestone. She was buried on the 16th in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the unconsecrated section.
