John Rouse was born before 3 May 1743 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay, son of John Rouse (1690–1756) and Sarah (Samson) Rouse (1697–>1757).

His siblings were:

John died on 1 Jul 1818 in Belpre, Washington, Ohio, United States, aged about 75.

John (22) married Rebecca (Barker) Rouse (14) (born on 14 May 1751 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts; daughter of Isaac Barker and Elizabeth (Howland) Barker) on 22 Mar 1766 in Dartmouth.[1] Their children were:
