Catharine (Kitty) Roush was born on February 14, 1777, in Shenandoah, Virginia to Philip Sehler Roush and his wife, Catherine Kelchner. She married George Zirkle on March 15, 1794, in her hometown. They had nine children in 18 years. She died on January 8, 1860, in Champaign, Ohio, having lived a long life of 82 years, and was buried there.
Rev. Lester Roush in his book "History of the Roush Family in America" states on page 217, "...The family of Katharine Roush and George Zirkle remained in the Valley, but we are unable to get definite lines of descent...."
