Carew was born in 1891 Georgia. He was married with a child when he enlisted for the World War I draft in 1917. His occupation was listed as druggist.[1] He apparently died in the war. When he passed away in 1918, he was buried in the Oak City Cemetery, Bainbridge, Georgia.[2] He lies next to his son and near his grandson.
