Biography

The son of Thomas Rudgers and his second wife, Christiana (Hutchinson) Rudgers, Will was born in Lyons Township in 1861. In 1880, his family lived in Dallas Township, in Clinton County, where his father worked as a blacksmith.[1] His father passed away in 1887; Will did not marry. In 1910, he lived with his widowed sister, Electa Dutton, in a household that also included his widowed mother. Will worked then as a laborer at odd jobs.[2] His mother passed away later that year and his sister remarried in 1914. In 1930, Will was an "inmate" at the Clinton County Poor House in Bingham, Michigan.[3] He passed away in Bingham at the age of 77.[4]
