Ulrich Ruedi was born in 1730 in Gachlingen, Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
According to a small note in the baptismal record of his son Heinerich,[1] Ulrich Ruedi served the community of Gachlingen as a kueffer or cooper. This means that he made wooden storage barrels, probably for wine.
Ulrich Ruedi was married to Magdalena Voegeli in 1762.[2] The couple were the parents of the following known children:
Hans Ruedi[3] who was born in 1772.
Heinerich Ruedi[4] who was born in 1779.
