Biography

Christian Ruegsegger, Sr. & Barbara Moser, who came to US from Switzerland, in 1819. They settled in Monroe Co., OH. They had 13 children The log-home built on the Ruegsegger farm in Monroe Co., Ohio, sheltered the large family of Christian and later the family of Peter and it was still standing in 1948. It was 2 stories in height. It had the usual primitive steep-spiral steps in one corned of the room going to the 2nd floor.. The spelling of their name has changed by some branches of the family to Resegger, Resseger, Resecker, Reaksecker. Born in Rottenback, Bern, Switzerland on 1778 to Johannes Ruegsegger and Barbara Beutler. Christian married Barbara Moser and had 8 children.
