Biography
Marie Joséphine was the daughter of Anselme Ruel and Anastasie Gosselin. She was born 11 mar 1858 and was baptized the next day in St-Charles-de-Bellechasse. Her godparents were Joseph Damase Lacasse and Euphrasie Ruel, both sign along with the father. [1]
On 16 Nov 1881, in Adams, Massachusetts, Josephine Rouel, 24 year old weaver born in Canada, daughter of Onesime and Anistacia Goslan married Phillip Gauvin, 22 years old born in Canada, son of Narcisse and Levette Peltier. It was the first marriage for each of them. [2]
She is still living at the time of her brother Louis' death:
- Louis Ruel died 9 Feb 1927 in Plunkett Memorial Hospital, Adams, Massachusetts. His Obituary includes the following information: [3]
- Louis Ruel, 66, of Cheshire Harbor died early this morning at Plunkett Memorial Hospital following an operation for mastoid which he underwent recently............
- He is survived by his widow and 9 children: ....... He also leaves 3 stepsons.....and 2 sisters Mrs. Leblanc of Fall River and Mrs. Geauvin of Southbridge and a half brother and sister in Canada.........
