Doctor Philip Alan Rundle was born on 19th June 1917 at Waratah, New South Wales, Australia. He was a son of Richard T Rundle and Catherine E unknown.[1]

On 2nd October 1941, he enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force as a medical doctor and served as a Captain in the 2/8th Australian General Hospital. He was discharged on 8th October 1946.[2]
He married Eliza Fiaschi in 1943 at North Sydney, New South Wales.[3] They were divorced before 1947.
