George was born in 1901. The record of births in Sanilac County, Michigan, submitted to the state 31 July 1902, shows his birth date as 6 Oct 1901. The birth date on his gravestone is 1901.

George was the son of George Rutherford and Grace Bartles. He was killed by a falling tree in 1913.

Research Notes

Although George's death certificate gives a birth date of 26 Oct 1902, this date appears to be in error. The Oct 1902 birthdate is impossible because it falls three months after the record of his birth was submitted to the state on 31 July 1902, which stated he was born 6 Oct 1901 .
