The son of Friedrich "Fred" Rutz (1875-1948) and Ida Adeline Erdmann (1879-1964), Frederick Vigo "Fred" Rutz was born in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan on 11 Sep 1902. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

He married twice and had three children:

(1) Mary Busser (1904-1966), married 14 Jul 1926 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, USA. He was 23; she was 22. ^[4] It is presumed they divorced before April 1930. Mary was award custody of their only child, Shirley Ann (Rutz-Rieg) Stone (1927-1967). ^[5]

(2) Tina Marie Howell (1908-1989), married 01 Jan 1937 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. ^[6] Their children:

1. Dorothy Jane (Rutz) Reneau (1937-2010)
2. Frederick Tom Rutz (1941-1997)

Fred passed away in Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida on 03 Jan 1974 at age 71. ^[7] He is interred in Pompano Beach Cemetery located in Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida, USA. ^[8]
