Biography

Maiden name On FamilySearch there are a number of records for her children where her maiden name is variously recorded Sakin, Sacon, Cakin and Sokey. In her death record, her parents names are recorded Michael and Pauline Sachew. (I imagine that is a transcription error of Sachen.) There are records on LitvakSIG of her family where the name is transliterated Sakin.

Given name In the USA, she used the name Rachel and later Rose and Rosie. On LitvakSIG she is recorded under the Yiddish, two-part name Khane Rokhlia, spelled various ways.

Birth She was born about 1854. (The 1858 Revision List indicates she is age 4. Later US records variously suggest she was born between 1855, 56, 57 or 58. I guess she was slightly underreporting her age.)

I guess she was born in Vilnius, because her family is recorded there in 1858, and there is a birth record of her brother Borukh there in 1847.

Birth record, on LitvakSIG, of her son Yaacov Plen (27 May 1885) indicates his father Abram son of Yosel-Leib, and his mother Khana-Rokhlia daughter of Mikhel; location Vilnius.
