Biography
Walter was born about 1828. Walter Salmon ... He passed away in 1864. [1]
Walter enlisted as a private in Company F, 62nd Infantry Regiment NC in Rutherford Co., NC on July 14, 1862. He was captured at Cumberland Gap, Tennessee on September 9, 1863 and forwarded to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois from Louisville, KY, on Sept. 24, 1863. He died on March 14, 1864 from hepatitis.
