Biography

Ernest Sampson was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Ernest Arthur Lionel "Lyle" Sampson was born at Lucknow NSW on 12 April 1898,^[1][2] the son of Ernest Elphingston Sampson and Annie Louisa Favell.

Ernest Arthur Lionel "Lyle" Sampson, son of Ernest Elphingston Sampson and Annie Louisa Favell, married Constance Crossman, daughter of Arthur Bruce Crossman and Ada Mary Bouffler, on 7 January 1933 at Orange, NSW.^[3] They had several children, some of whom are still living.

During WWII, Ernest enlisted in the Australian Army at Orange on 21 May 1942. He was discharged from the 26 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corp on 25 September 1945.^[2]

Ernest's wife Constance (Crossman) Sampson passed away in Orange, NSW on 23 Oct 1973

Ernest Arthur Lionel "Lyle" Sampson passed away in New South Wales on 8 August 1976.^[4][5] A widower, he was survived by two children that are still living and their families.
