Angeline was born 7 Feb 1889 at Atoka, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, the daughter of Perry Sampson and Simmie Perry.
Calvin C. Perry, Angeline's grandfather became her Guardian when she was about 14 years old on 22 October 1903 by the County and Probate Court of Pontotoc County, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.[2] The United States Court at Ada, Indian Territory confirmed Calvin's Guardianship of Angeline on 8 October 1904.[3][4] On 11 March 1905 the court certified his Guardianship.[5]
