Birth and Parents

Gideon Sampson was born in Massachusetts.

Gideon, the son of Joshua Sampson and Susanna Parkhurst was born on 15 October 1797 at Braintree, Massachusetts.^[1]

Marriages and Children

Gideon, occupation Farmer, was married twice. He married 1) as her second husband Elizabeth (Torrey) Fenno, the daughter of Lemuel and Sarah (Lovell) Torrey on 31 August 1820 at Weymouth, Massachusetts.^[2]They had at least two sons born at Weymouth:

1. Edwin Sampson (b. 1823; d. 8 Feb 1884, Weymouth, MA)^[3]Died unmarried.
2. George Sampson (b. 1826; d. 22 Sep 1909, N. Weymouth, MA)^[4] m. 31 May 1868 at Weymouth, MA, Mary Ann White (1846-)^[5]
3. Albert Sampson (b. 1828; d. 23 Nov 1898, Weymouth, MA)^[6]Died unmarried.

Elizabeth (Torrey) Fenno-Sampson died on 4 January 1849 in her 58th year at Weymouth.

Gideon married 2) Eliza S. (Hussey) Starbuck (1805-) the daughter of Elias and Lydia Hussey on 5 June 1849 at Quincy, Norfolk, Massachusetts.^[7]There were no children from this union.

Death and Burial

Gideon F. Sampson died on 1 January 1862 in his 65th year at Weymouth and is buried in the North Weymouth Cemetery at Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts.^[8]
