Jesse was born in 1800, the son of Mordecai Sanders and Margaret Thomas. In 1821, when he was about 21 years old, he married Epsy Battain in Columbiana County, Ohio.[1] In 1840, Jesse was in Monroe Township, Perry County, Ohio, with what appears to be 6 males and 4 females in the household.[2]
