Lionel Pelham Sapsford was born on 21st February 1913 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He was the older son of Clinton Sapsford and Lillian Clark. [1]
He studied for and became a medical doctor.
He became a Prisoner-of-War (POW). Upon repatriation to Australia after Japan's surrender, Lionel was discharged from the AIF on 11th August 1945.
Lionel passed away, aged 93 years, on 1st August 2006 at Brisbane and is buried in the Brisbane General Cemetery, Toowong.
