Biography
Alice was born in 1916. She was the daughter of Harry Saunders and Mary Sanford. She married in 1965 to Donald Preston. She passed away in 2003. [1]
Obituary
PRESTON, Alice Elizabeth - 87, Halifax, passed away March 12, 2003, in Northwood Centre. Born in Weston, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Sanford) Saunders. Alice had been a resident of Northwood since July, 1971. Alice was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by stepdaughters, June Taylor, Bedford; Lorinda Preston Thibodeau, Quebec; Joan Preston Urquhart, Vancouver; nephews, Reginald, Charles, Brian and Gregory Saunders; nieces, Ardyth Crumb, Barbara Fuller, Mary Ann Carty, Margaret Atwater, Linda Tsagarius, Judith Saunders, Bonnie Sue Ferguson. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Preston; brothers Lewis, Frank, Norman, Albert; sisters, Mary and Helen. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, in Northwood Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Northwood Foundation or Weston Community Hall. A very special thanks to the staff at Northwood Manor and Centre who cared for Alice for so many years. Arrangements are entrusted to J. A. Snow Funeral Home.
