Per Gladys Farris, on July 12, 1779, Mary Faris obtained a letter of administration on the estate of Charles Faris, dec'd. Louisa Co. Court Orders 1774-1784.
1780, Mar. 14 - "It appears to the court by a certificate from under the hands of Capt. Christopher Hads and John Hughes Company of Rangers in the years 1758 till Discharged. It also appears by the oath of Mary Faris, widow of the said Charles, that he is since dead and that Richard Faris is his heir at law and the said Charles and Richard had recieved no satisfaction for the same agreeable to Proclaimation in the year 1763."
