Biography

Walter Sauter married Christine Siebert. Christine and Walter had the following children: Walter, Carl, Roy, Naomi, and Bernard. Walter is buried in Calgary Cemetery. Walter resided in Middletown, Butler, OH when the 1940 census was taken.

Walter James Sauter's 1917-1918 draft registration says that he was 39 at the time, was a farmer employed in Clear Creek Township, and was tall, medium build, and had blue eyes and brown hair.

Walter's death certificate says that he died of hypertension, the primary cause. Also listed is apoplexy. He lived for 60 years, 11 months, and 14 days. Betty Jo Hogg, the granddaughter of Walter Sauter remembers that when she was 4-5 years old, Walter would often wander off; so, demensia was involved at the later stages of his life. She also remembers that he helped to construct the foundation or basement for St. John School in Middletown, OH.
