Biography

Michael was born on March 12, 1789 in Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania and a son of Jacob Schaffer and Maria Lenker. He passed away on January 27, 1837 and buried in the Stone Valley Cemetery in Hickory Corners, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.^[1] On his tombstone, the surname is spelled Schaffer.

Michael's Will: Executor were Henry Bohner and Jacob Yeakly settled his estate. Witnesses to his were Michael Wertz and Michael Radel. The will was probated February 11, 1937. Elizabeth remained in their home with the two younger children: Phillip and Susanna. By 1860, she had gone to live with her son Samuel.
