Genevieve was born in 1908. She passed away in 2006.
Genevieve M. Legleiter, 97, Hays, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006. Mrs. Legleiter was born Genevieve M. Schaffer on Oct. 21, 1908, in Liebenthal. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Anton, " in 1993; and two sons, Donald and Wilfred.
Survivors include eight sons, Gerald, Miles, Anthony, Harold and Walter, all of Hays, LeRoy of Great Bend, Melvin of WaKeeney and Dennis of Gorham; four daughters, Dorothy McCollum, Virginia Kinderknecht, Germaine Degenhardt and Patricia Rohr, all of Hays; a sister, Hildegard Kreutzer of Wichita; 62 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays 67601.
Memorials may be made for Masses. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the chapel.[1]
