Schaffer, Rev. Jasper Anderson (J.A.), age 74, of Madisonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior 8:54 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Park West Medical Center, surrounded by family and loved ones. J.A. was a member of Glenlock Baptist Church. In his ministry of the Gospel, he pastored Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Loudon, and Glenlock Baptist Church of Sweetwater . He also served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Masonic Lodge # 658 of Vonore. He was loved by many and was known for his fun loving spirit. He enjoyed hunting, hiking and spending time in the mountains. He was also a playful and caring papaw who cherished his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, at J.A.'s request , donations may be made to the Gideon's International. Survivors, wife of 51 plus years, Floie (Flossie) Mae Shell Schaffer; sons & daughters-in-law, Shane & Susan Schaffer, Chad & Cindy Schaffer, Dusty & Melissa Schaffer; grandchildren, Holly Schaffer Ferguson & spouse Matthew Ferguson, Brooke Schaffer, Logan Schaffer, Seth Schaffer, Aubrey Schaffer, Josie Schaffer, Lilianna Schaffer; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Henry Grady, Sr. and Zinnia Lillian Schaffer, sisters, Margaret Loretta Schaffer Toomey, Mary Louise Schaffer Savage, Dorothy Jean Schaffer White, and an infant sister, Helen Elizabeth Schaffer; brothers, Henry Grady Schaffer, Jr., Clyde Wayne Schaffer and an infant brother. Funeral 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Mitch Isbill, Rev. Joey Bivens officiating. Interment 1:00 p.m. Monday, Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
