Henry Schilling was born about 1802 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, his father, John Jacob Shilling Sr and his mother, Eleanor McCarty. He married Elizabeth Forrest about 1827 in Washington, Louisiana. He died on October 6, 1865, in Washington, Louisiana,
