Conrad was born in 1819. He passed away in 1908. He ran a clothing dyer and dry cleaning service that he opened in 1849 in Mannheim, S17. The business still exists. It is run by one of his great great grandsons. He turned the business over to his eldest daughter, Eloise Kramer, and her husband Louis. The Kramers continue to operate the business today as a commercial laundry and dry cleaning service. HE started the dying and cleaning because he came from winemakers, who needed new ways to use cloth. He retired in 1872 and lived off his investments. He may have lost a leg to diabetes.
