Research Notes

Queensland Times, Ipswich Herald and General Advertiser (Qld. : 1861 - 1908), Thu 5 May 1904, Page 9 A MINING ACCIDENT. On Tuesday last a man named Wilhelm Friedrich Schmidt, 69 vears of age, who was employed in a colliery at Walloon, met with a painful, though fortunately not serious, accident. An explosion of gas occurred, and he was burnt about the back and left shoulders. The sufferer was brought to the Ipswich Hospital the same afternoon, and is now progressing favourably.
