Biography
Jan Scholtemeijer, born 26 August 1862[1] in Hoogeveen, son of Jan Scholtemeijer and Hendrika Stoter. He passed away 5 September 1942[2] in Rustenburg, Pretoria, Zuid Afrika
In the Boer War, Jan Scholtemeijer was taken prisoner of war in Zandfontein and accused of having known of the presence of farmers in the hills near his house. He was imprisoned in Deadwood Camp on Saint Helena[3]
