Biography

Robert Scott was the son of William and Jessie (Trotter) Scott. He was born on 02 June 1868 in the Parish of Heriot, Midlothian. ^[1]

On 04 March 1898 Robert (age 27) married Primrose Smith. ^[2]

The Census of 1901 shows Robert (32) was a Coal Miner living in Borthwick with his wife, Primrose and children: Jane (3) and Jessie (10 months). Both children were born in Borthwick. Also living there were Margaret Pearson, Grandmother and William Pearson, Grandfather. ^[3]

In June of 1909, Robert's daughter Jessie Trotter Scott died of Meningitis. She was 9 years old. ^[4]

In 1911 Robert and Primrose were living at No 2 Brewery, Borthwick along with 6 children: Jeanie (12), Margaret (8), William (5), Andrew (5), Ralph (3) and Agnes (1). Also living there was William Scott (67) - Robert's father, and a Boarder - William Gillon (29). ^[5]

Robert (78) passed away on 31 March 1947 at 51 Huntersfield Terrace, Gorebridge. His son, Robert was the informant. ^[6]
