Biography

This profile is part of the Scott Name Study.
Mary Scott died young.

Mary Scott was born on June 15, 1833 in Yarrow, Selkirkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of John Scott (1803–1884) and Mary Broadwood (1805–1886).[1]

Mary died on December 10, 1835 in Yarrow, aged 2.[2]

Research Notes

The death record states she died age 3, and with a Family Bible recording of the birth in 1833 she would be 2 1/2 years old. Therefore she must have been born earlier than 1833. The family moved during this time frame (from Fastheugh Farm to Ashiesteel Farm), possibly causing a memory lapse. There is no record of her birth on ScotlandsPeople (Using Wildcards and surname only search).
