Biography
Elanor Scovel was probably born in Fulton county, Illinois to parents Benjamin and Permelia Scovel nee Journey in about 1832. She married Robert M Fullerton around 1849; and was living in the household of her parents with her husband in 1850, in August at Prairie Du Chien, Crawford, Wisconsin, then next in September in Lodomillo, Clayton, Iowa [1] She was deceased by the time of Robert's marriage to Cyntia Abbott in 1854. Robert and his two children by Elanor are listed with his second wife Cynthia by 1856. [2]
There are several other pieces of circumstantial evidence that link the Scovel family and Elanor's husband Robert Fullerton, including a land assignment to Robert by Elanor's father Benjamin Scovel [3] and the 1857 census listing Elanor's brother James Scovel in the Fullerton household. [4]
