In 1861 George Seabrook (age 5, Scholar) lived in Slapton, Buckinghamshire with his father William (43, Agricultural Labourer), mother Mary (39, Plait Maker), and three siblings: Emily A (9, Scholar), Joseph (7, Scholar), and Agnes (1).[2][3]
In 1871 George Seabrook (age 15) lived in Slapton with his father William (51 [~53]), mother Mary (49), brother Joseph (17), and sister Agnes (11).[4]
George emigrated to Australia aboard the "Gloucester", 11 July 1873. Occupation: Hairdresser
George was in the employ of Queensland Government Railways as lengths ganger from the time the first line was constructed to Maryborough until he reached retiring age. He then took up farming in the Coalstoun Lakes district, later moving to Takura.

Mr. George Seabrook, an old and respected resident of Maryborough district, passed away yesterday morning. He was born In Buckinghamshire, England, in 1855 and migrated to Queensland in 1872, residing in this district since that time. The deceased was in the employ of the Queensland Government Rallways as lengths ganger from tho time when the first line was con- structed to this city, .until he reached the retiring age. He then took up farming In the Coalstoun Lakes district, later moving to Takura. where he had since resided. He is survived by a sorrowing wife, five sons, namely William (Gootchie). Alfred (Walter Hall, Mt. Morgan), Walter (Didcot). Herbert and Pency (Takura). and four daughters, Mrs. Edward Deacon (Tianna), Mrs C. J. Bryant (Didcot), Mrs. J. Currant, junr. (Takura). and Mrs, R. T. Ashton (Maryborough). One son died whilst a membcr of the A.I.F. The funeral will take place this morning at 10.30 o'clock.
