Biography

Daniel R Seale/Seals (it appears that he used the "Seale" spelling more often) b. 19 Nov 1844 AL,[1] son of Chapman Seale and Martha Williams

Daniel enlisted for service during the Civil War serving in “Springfield’s Indpt Comp. Scouts & Guides (Ala); Fowler’s Indpt Comp. Scouts & Guides U S Vols.” as stated in Martha's filing for widow's pension, filed in 1893.[2]

After the war he apparently returned home and was still living with his parents' family until at least 1870.

Daniel R Seale m. Martha Jane Mallard 24 Aug 1873 in St Clair County, Alabama, 1st marriage for both.[3] She was still living in 1900, widowed. [4] Daniel and Martha were in Alabama until about 1878[5] when they went to Van Zandt co. Texas. They were there until about 1891 when they returned to Alabama “when [son] James was about 13 years old,”[6] moving to Calhoun, Alabama. Their children:

Daniel R Seale/Seals died 24 Nov 1897, [11] possibly buried in "Seddon" Cemetery. [12]
