Biography

Martha Seamans was born on July 14, 1875[1] in Arkansas to George Seamans and Sarah Bynum.[2]

According to the 1880 census, Martha lived with her parents and siblings in Sebastian County, Arkansas.[2]

On December 19, 1891, Martha married Riley Slate in Barry County, Missouri.[3]

Riley ran off after Martha's mother would not let him see his daughter Mary.

On March 24, 1894, Martha married Thomas Smith in Barry County, Missouri.[4]

Thomas died before 1898.

Martha married James Burgett around 1898.

Martha and James divorced before 1915.

On April 6, 1915, Martha married Burnecy Dickerson in Carthage, Missouri.[5]

Martha and Burnecy divorced before 1920.

On February 11, 1921, Martha married Edwin Barrett in Mount Vernon, Missouri.[6]

Martha and Edwin divorced before 1929.

On August 6, 1929, Martha married John Newcum in Jasper County, Missouri.[7]

Martha died on October 2, 1954 in Picher, Oklahoma.[8]

She is buried in the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri.[9]
