Jacob Selinger was born in Russia in 1897. He was the son of Michael Selinger and Franziska Gartner. He emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1899 and they settled in the Assiniboia. He married Mary.
SELINGER On July 4, 1992, Jacob Michael Selinger, late of Edmonton, Alberta and formerly of Regina passed away at the age of 95 years. "Gramps" as he was fondly called by his family was born In Russia in 1897 and immigrated to Canada in 1899. He lived In the Vibank district for many years before moving to Regina. Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Franzisca Selinger, his wife Mary in 1958, two brothers and five sisters. Jacob is survived by two sisters: Margaret Deck of Regina and Anna of Vancouver. His daughter Donna (Warren) Rivers of Balgonie. Two grandchildren Darryle (Sandy) Lipp of Craven and Colleen (Bruce) McLellan of Calgary. Five great grandchildren: Cory, Misty, Tyrell, Chase and Abby and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment In Riverside Memorial Park, Monday, July 13, 1992. with Rev. Gordon Rushka of Balgonie officiating.[1]
