Mary (Sexton) Attew was born in Norfolk, England.

Mary Sexton was born 13th February 1818 in Suffield, Norfolk, England & baptised 22nd March 1818, the daughter of James & Ann Sexton.^[1][2]

Mary Sexton, age 19, Single-woman, of Suffield, (daughter of James Sexton, Labourer) & William Attew, age 24, Single-man, Brickmaker, of Suffield, (son of Jonathan Attew, Brickmaker) were married 3rd August 1838 in the Parish Church of Suffield, Norfolk, England according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England by Charles Heath, Rector. William & Mary both made their mark. Witnesses were George Harman & Elizabeth Bell.^[3]

Mary Attew died aged 81, in May 1897 in Gunton, Norfolk, England and was laid to rest at Thorpe Market, Norfolk, England 13th May 1897.^[4][5]
