SADIE E. HOUSEL

Mrs. Sadie Ellen Housel, 97, formerly of Richfield and Grayson View, Selinsgrove, entered into eternal rest at 5:10 Tuesday, July 27, 2004 in Penn Lutheran Village Nursing Center, Selinsgrove, where she had resided since January, 2003.

Mrs. Housel was born in Snyder County on April 16, 1907, the daughter of the late Sherman Wilson and Fannie (Master) Sheaffer. On October 20, 1942 she married Palmer Carvell, who preceded her in death March 12, 1965. She then married George E. Housel Jr. on September 14, 1975, and he also preceded her in death on November 27, 2002.

She was educated at Crossroads Grammar schoolhouse in Snyder County.

She was a member of Richfield United Methodist Church, Richfield, where she was also a member of the Queen Esther Sunday school class.

Mrs. Housel was employed at various local garment factories as a seamstress. She loved to travel to Florida and visit with relatives.

She is survied by one brother and sister-in-law, Robert R. Sheaffer and wife Gladys G. of Freeburg; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Housel was preceded in death by nine brothers, William, Theodore, Lester, Charles, Edgar, Russell, Earl, Arthur and Herman Sheaffer.

The funeral service was conducted Saturday from the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with Rev. Vernon E. Shenberger officiating.

Burial followed the services in Richfield Union Cemetery, Richfield.
