Biography
John Gilbert Shanklin was born in Evansville, Indiana, 3 May 1841. He was a son of Philura Fillmore (French) Shanklin (1808-1874) and John Shanklin (1795-1877).
He married 14 Jun 1879 @ Wyoming, New York, Gertrude Arms Avery, with whom he had 2 children:
- Susanna Avery Shanklin, b. 5 Jun 1880 @ Louisville, Kentucky
- Malvina Harlan Shanklin, b. 2 Aug 1883 @ Wyoming, New York
John Gilbert Shanklin passed away in Evansville, Indiana, 6 Aug 1903 [1]. His grave is in Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, USA [2].
