B7—GEORGE SHAHHOH

GEORGE was b: circa 1770, probably in Montgomery Co., VA.. He d: in 1836. He was m: to MARY MC KNIGHT on May 2 1797, according to page 15, Marriage Book #1, Davidson Co. TN. He is an ancestor of Mrs. LOUISE SHANNON DEDMAN. (see B7A1A1, below.) He was alleged to have been involved with LEWIS and CLARK as a surveyor in KY. and TN. MARY was the daughter of ROBERT MC KNIGHT, and sister of JANE MC KNIGHT who m: GEORGE'S brother, DAVID SHANNON. Shortly after their marriage, GEORGE and MARY came to Williamson Co., TN., 7 miles east of Franklin, on the present (1980), Clovercroft Road, where they are buried on their farm in marked graves. MARY's father, ROBERT MC KNIGHT is buried there with them, he was b: in 1732 and d: ln 1818. GEORGE and MARY reportedly had 8 children in all but only six lived to maturity, but the only one known at the present time is listed under B7A.
