Maude Pearl Shannon was born in December 1888, a daughter of George Herring Shannon (1861–1931) and Clarissa "Clara" A. Ketner (1858–1942). She was baptized on 27 March 1889 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.[1]
In 1900 the family was living on Railroad Street in Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.[2] In 1910 she was still living with her parents and younger sister. She was now teaching in a public school.[3]
Interestingly, she is in the 1930 U.S. Census twice. Maude, Harry and their two children were living in Salisbury, Somerset County, Pennsylvania while he was teaching school.[4] But she and both children were also listed as living with her parents in Watsontown.[5]
Maude passed away at age 81 in February 1969.[6] She was buried in Watsontown Cemetery, Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.[7]
