William was born in 1841. His parents were Charles Sharp and Ann Cook. [1] He was baptized 3 April 1841 in Crowle, Lincolnshire. [2]
William was living with his parents and siblings in Yorkshire in 1851. [3] He married Hannah Ward on 26 May 1862. William was aged 21, a bachelor, farm servant of Crowle, father Charles Sharp, a labourer. Hannah was aged 19, a spinster also of Crowle. Her father was John Ward, a line dealer. Witnesses: Robert Ward and Fredk. Autey. [4] They had four children by 1871: Charles, John, Samuel, and Robert. The family was now living in Co. Durham. [5]

By 1881, William was working as a grocer. Four more children - William, Septer, George, and Daniel had come along.[6] Two more children, Fredercik and Celia, had arrived by 1891. William was working as a fruiterer. [7]
William and Hannah were living with four of their children in 1901. William was now a potato merchant. [8] He became a widower when his wife died in 1904. [9] In 1911, he was living with two adult sons. [10]
Conflated family. Removed Hannah Almond as his wife. Hannah Almond married a different William Sharp and stayed in Lincolnshire. She died in 1886. Also removing Charles Sharp and Rebecca Kime as his parents. That Charles died before William was born. McHugh-842 15:22, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
